Samsung 90Hz OLED Panels for Notebook
Today, Samsung Display announced the start of mass production of 90Hz refresh rate laptop OLED panels. These panels are used in the new 14-inch Asus Zenbook and Vivobook Pro, both notebooks support a 90Hz refresh rate.
According to Samsung Display’s internal tests, Samsung’s 90Hz OLED panel has a blur length of 0.9mm during video playback, a 10% improvement compared to the blur length of the 120Hz LCD panel. Samsung Display said the company has been supplying OLED panels to global notebook manufacturers such as Asus, Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Samsung Electronics, and the market continues to grow.
In addition to the 14-inch 90Hz OLED panel, the Asus Zenbook and Vivobook Pro models are also said to feature Samsung Display’s 4K OLED in the larger 16-inch panel. Samsung Display said it is continuing to expand its OLED product line for notebooks with a variety of sizes and improved performance.
Compared with high refresh rate LCD screens, 90Hz OLED screens are more responsive and the experience will be smoother. In addition, OLED screen material is not only thinner, has lower energy consumption, high brightness, good luminosity, high refresh rate, can display pure black, and can also do bending, hardware-level anti-blue light, and so on.
