Samsung Patent Waterproof Galaxy Buds with Removable Neckband
From previous years, Samsung began to regularly launch their new headphones with smartphones, from Galaxy Buds Live to Galaxy Buds Pro, as well as the latest Galaxy Buds 2. Although these compact wireless earbuds can be very convenient to wear while exercising, not when swimming.
Recently, Letsgodigital discovered a new wireless headset patent of Samsung, the patent brings a wireless Bluetooth headset with super waterproof, can be used underwater. Letsgodigital points out that the patent Samsung submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on March 3, 2021, was approved and published in September 2021, the patent name is “Wearable device that can be worn on ears of the user and accessory for supporting communication thereof”.

From the patent image, the earbuds in the patent are very similar to the Galaxy Buds+. The earbuds have a built-in microphone, sensors, and a two-way speaker, and also include a Galaxy Buds+ touchpad similar to the Galaxy Buds+.
However, the Galaxy Buds+ differs in that the earbuds have an additional attachment that allows the earbuds to be used underwater. This accessory is a neck loop, which is similar to a neckband headset when used in combination with the earbuds.
It is worth mentioning that this neck ring attachment can not only be used to fix the earbuds, but also be able to detect many health information about the body, such as speed, calorie counting, and so on.

Among the earbuds released by Samsung so far, Galaxy Buds Pro supports IPX7 waterproof, which is also the highest waterproof level among all its headphones. This rating supports products placed 1-meter water depth, after 30 minutes of immersion, can still be used normally and unaffected.
