iPhone 14 Series Core Specifications and Renderings
Apple has announced that it will hold a fall conference at 10:30 pm IST on September 14, when it is expected to launch a new generation of iPhone 13 Series models and other products. Before that, the tipster Jon Prosser brought the news about iPhone 2022 in the latest episode of the show, which is temporarily referred to as iPhone 14.
According to the analyst, Ross Young says these changes could still be delayed. Previously, it was announced that Apple is working on an alternative to removing the iPhone bangs, possibly by adding a Touch ID or Face ID sensor under the display.
Apple also wants to switch to an under-screen Face ID sensor on next year’s iPhone, but the analyst noted that the change is not finalized and Apple is still working on it. Ross Young also said it would be easier to hide the Face ID sensor under the display than the main camera, which could be the reason for the front camera’s perforated design.

Ross Young and analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo believe that only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature a perforated screen, while the entry-level models should retain the bangs or switch to Touch ID. Apple will design a few prototypes before finalizing new devices, so everything could change by 2022.
The new generation of iPhone 14 is currently seen without bangs and is expected to have a hole-punch screen design and switch to a new titanium material. In summary, the iPhone 14 will have the following key features:
- No bangs, replaced by a front middle punch design, in line with the predictions given by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
- A thicker back panel (probably the bottom cover), so the rear camera won’t protrude. Camera lenses, LED flash, and LIDAR scanner will all be flush with the glass panel of the back cover.
- Titanium frame (body or mid-frame).
- Volume buttons are now rounded, similar to the classic iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 designs.
- Speaker and microphone holes have been overhauled with a slim mesh cutout instead of a small, isolated hole at the bottom of the phone.
- The lightning port remains on at least some models of iPhone 14.
Prosser said that while the device could still be released in September 2022, given that some aspects of the iPhone 14’s design and dimensions may change more dramatically, some changes may be made for mass production, but it’s believed that the final version will remain largely unchanged in terms of the overall design.
He also said it had only seen images of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but he didn’t know the technology behind the design changes. The renders he gave show a variety of colorways, but they were made for rendering purposes only, so they’re just for reference.
