OPPO and BOE – Next-generation Under-screen Camera
OPPO held a future image technology conference yesterday, at which OPPO also focused on detailing its next-generation under-screen camera technology, but did not explicitly give the supplier providing the screen.
Today, BOE then released a long article confirming that OPPO’s under-screen camera solution also comes from BOE. Within the article, BOE stated that BOE’s customized flexible OLED screen adopts the industry’s first “one drive one” technology to achieve a true 400PPI display effect while matching OPPO’s powerful self-research algorithm, which greatly optimizes the front camera experience and creates a new era of smartphone full-screen.

As we all know, in the under-screen camera technology, because the front camera is covered by the screen, it becomes one of the biggest technical difficulties to ensure the shooting effect and screen display quality at the same time.
BOE’s flexible OLED FDC (Full Display with Camera) under-screen camera technology has a 400PPI screen pixel arrangement, and by using the industry’s first 1-pixel circuit to drive 1 OLED pixel unit design, each pixel can be individually controlled, and the “camera area” and “main display area” can simultaneously achieve a true 400PPI high resolution.
The camera area edge without thin line displays the wrong line, to ensure that the two areas of the display effect are consistent, shooting imaging effect to the industry’s leading level, become the industry-leading cell phone under the screen camera technology development of the vane.
As people’s demand for cell phone viewing, entertainment, camera, etc. continues to rise, full-screen, folding screen, slide scroll screen, and other innovative display products to accelerate the approach to public life, before OPPO and BOE jointly launched the “OPPO X 2021 Rollable concept phone” cell phone, to bring infinite possibilities for innovative applications of the flexible display.
According to Sigmaintell data, in the first half of 2021, BOE shipped about 25 million flexible OLED smartphone panels, an increase of nearly 70% year on year, with the market share of flexible display ranking first in the domestic industry and second in the world.
