Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro
ASUS announced the launch of the two new gaming phones ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro. It is worth noting that this is the industry’s first Snapdragon 888 Plus flagship phone equipped with 18GB of RAM, which is also the most powerful performance model in the Android camp.
As we know, Snapdragon 888 Plus is Qualcomm’s flagship chip which was first equipped by Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. It is built on Samsung’s 5nm process and still uses the Cortex X1 mega-core, Cortex A78 mega-core, and Cortex A55 tri-cluster architecture, with the mega-core CPU main frequency, increased from 2.84GHz to 3.0GHz in Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, as well as three 2.4GHz Cortex A78 and four 1.8GHz Cortex A55 energy-efficient cores, and the GPU remains the Adreno 660.
In addition, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus has significantly improved AI performance, it is equipped with Qualcomm’s sixth-generation AI Engine, AI arithmetic power reached 32 TOPS, better than Snapdragon 888’s 26 TOPS. The second upgrade from Rog Phone 5 is the touch sampling rate from 300Hz to 360Hz, touch latency from reduced to 24ms.
The difference between the Rog Phone 5S and 5S Pro is mainly on the back. The Rog Phone 5s Pro has a POLED color screen and two sets of touch sensors integrated at the same time, and the package comes with an air-cooled back clip.
Other configurations remain the same, including a 6.78-inch 144Hz display protected under Gorilla Glass Victus, 6,000mAh battery 65W fast charging, dual USB 3.1 Gen2 ports on the side and bottom, supporting DP 1.4 signal transmission, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of storage, the starting 8GB + 128GB, 5s Pro version up to 18GB RAM + 512GB ROM combination.
