BOE OLED FDC: Full Display with Camera
According to the reports from Mydrivers, BOE announced the launch of flexible OLED FDC (400 PPI) under-screen camera technology: one drive, one-pixel circuit design, has been applied to first-tier cell phone manufacturers models.
BOE said, different from the market “one drive multiple” pixel circuit design, BOE FDC (FDC, Full Display with Camera) under-screen camera technology using a drive a pixel circuit design, FDC camera area and the surrounding screen display no difference, and there is no thin line showing the wrong line at the edge of the camera area.
In addition to the ultimate panoramic display effect, the FDC shooting imaging effect has also reached the industry’s leading level and has been applied to the under-screen camera models of first-tier cell phone manufacturers, becoming the vane leading the development of under-screen camera technology for cell phones in the industry.
FDC technology refers to the elimination of the front camera hole on the original screen, the front camera built into the display screen below the technical solution. Compared with the punch-hole screen and waterdrop screen on the market now, the real full-screen without holes is achieved.
BOE flexible OLED FDC technology uses a 1-drive 1-pixel circuit, i.e. one-pixel circuit drives one OLED pixel unit. Based on not reducing the pixel density in the camera area and not reducing the pixel drive circuit, this solution improves the visible light transmission rate and increases the light intake of the under-screen camera by optimizing the pixel space arrangement and film stacking design in the camera area, which improves the photo effect while realizing a true full-screen display with no difference in high resolution.
Meanwhile, based on powerful optical simulation capability, BOE further optimizes circuit and backplane design, optimizes the shape of pixel units, minimizes light diffraction, reduces glare and significantly improves imaging resolution, and combines with the terminal’s de-yellowing algorithm and diffraction AI algorithm to truly achieve both perfect display and photography.
Finally, BOE can improve the screen life by 50% through the brightness compensation algorithm, which also ensures the mass production of this technology and facilitates the future promotion to more product platforms and consumer use scenarios, such as under-screen structured light for face recognition.
