Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Notable Industries First Tech
According to previous information, the second half of this year under the screen camera models will include many products, including Xiaomi, Samsung, ZTE, and Vivo, and the program is not the same, the end of the same stage competition do not know who can stand out.
But what confuses each manufacturer is not only the yield rate but also product effectiveness and other issues. The Axon 20 launched by ZTE last year used the world’s first commercial under-screen solution from Visionox, which is a year ahead of the industry but has unsatisfactory front camera experience and low resolution.
In recent DSCC report by Ross Young – founder/lead analyst of Display Search and DSCC brings new highlights of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is said to introduce industries first tech including:
- The first foldable display with an under panel camera;
- The first foldable display that replaces the circular polarizer with a color filter to reduce thickness, increase brightness, and lower power;
- The first foldable display with UTG to have pen input.
In addition, the Z Fold 3 incorporates a carbon-reinforced polymer layer to increase strength below the panel. In terms of color availability, Ross Young claims that Black will be the most produced color for the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, while the 2nd most color Cream for the Flip 3 and Green for the Fold 3.
Furthermore, the Digital Chat Station recently revealed that Samsung seems to have completed the development of a high-resolution under-screen front camera solution, but did not confirm when will be available on the real thing.
We know that the current screen PPI (Pixel Per Inch) is about 400 on FHD+, and PPI in this level camera light transmission rate is very low, so that seriously affects the under-display camera effect. If the PPI is lowered and the transmittance is increased, there will be a big gap between the PPI of the display area (upper under-display camera area) and the PPI of the whole screen, resulting in a color block in the display area and other phenomena.
Therefore, in high resolution to solve the problem of light transmission is the key to achieve an under-screen camera, if Samsung solves this shortcoming, then the real full-screen will be officially on the agenda. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 will use under-screen camera technology, when Samsung will present a true full-screen solution, but not sure using above mentioned tech.
Samsung will hold a new online conference in early August (tipped on 3rd August) to introduce the new foldable screen phone Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 two new products and will be officially listed at the end of the same month.
