Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 Will be thicker
As we all know, Samsung has been committed to promoting the development of folding-screen phones in recent years and has launched several folding screen product line-up: the main business Galaxy Z Fold and the main fashionable and portable Galaxy Z Flip.
To popularization folding screen phones, Samsung will realize an unprecedented design in the new generation of Galaxy Z Fold models. The new products include the Galaxy Z Fold 3/Flip 3, which will inherit the previous generation’s internal folding method but will have upgrades in the screen, SoC, and other aspects.
Recently, display analyst Ross Young tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 will be thicker than the Z Fold 2 despite having a next-generation UTG ultra-thin glass screen and eliminating the screen polarizer. The analyst explained that the reason for the increased thickness is the new phone’s support for the S Pen stylus, which requires an additional sensing layer underneath the screen.
In addition, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be significantly brighter and more power-efficient than its predecessor which is the result of the elimination of a polarizing layer. Therefore, the reduction of the phone’s battery capacity from 4500mAh to 4250mAh will not result in a degraded experience.
According to the latest revelations, Samsung is likely to officially launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 model next month, which will be the first phone in the Samsung camp to carry an under-screen camera that will enable selfies and video calls while keeping the inner screen free of openings.
In addition, the news also said that Samsung has found a key factor in solving the image quality of such sensors “light transmission”, and will be able to improve the light transmission of the under-screen camera by at least 40%, which will also bring a higher picture quality, and can achieve the same experience as the normal front camera.
It is worth mentioning that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor, which will also make it the first flagship model in the world to be equipped with an under-screen front camera.
