Sharp AQUOS R6 Debut
Today, Sharp officially Unveiled the Sharp AQUOS R6 flagship phone with extraordinary display and industries largest bottom camera sensor in collaboration with Leica. Sharp AQUOS R6 main highlight including a 1-inch camera sensor, Collaboration with Leica Camera, Pro IGZO OLED display that operates at 1Hz-240Hz with a peak brightness of 2000 nits.
The “single eye” that arrived. Inheriting the Leica DNA that created the history of the camera. And with a new high-quality display that will renew the world, a new AQUOS is born.
Sharp
Officially, Sharp has developed the AQUOS R6 under the supervision of Leica Camera from Germany and the world’s first OLED display “Pro IGZO OLED” driven at 1Hz-240Hz, will be commercialized as a summer 2021 model.
In March 2020, Sony will begin collaborating with Leica, a company with over 100 years of camera history, on the development and design of smartphone cameras. As the first step, Sharp collaborated with Leica to develop the camera system, including sensor and lens design, and image quality adjustment.
The 1-inch sensor, one of the largest in a smartphone, and the 7-element lens with an f/1.9 focal length of 19mm, which has earned the title of Leica’s “SUMMICRON” lens, enable high sensitivity even in dark areas with the overwhelming light collection and distortion-free shooting from wide-angle to telephoto.
In addition, it integrates computational photography (digital image processing technology), a specialty of smartphones. In addition to the ability to precisely reproduce the contours of details even when digitally zooming, it also enables the depiction of a wide dynamic range with less noise when shooting night scenes, thus preserving the “atmosphere” of the moment regardless of whether it is day or night, indoors or outdoors.
The display is the world’s first “Pro IGZO OLED” OLED display that operates at 1Hz to 240Hz. The display automatically switches the drive speed according to the content being displayed to achieve both high energy efficiency and a smooth, clear display with minimal afterimages. 1 billion color gradations, high contrast of 20 million:1, and a high peak brightness of 2,000 nits (cd/m2), the highest in the industry, enable the display to display HDR content with a bright, realistic 3D effect.
In addition, it features Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform, the latest CPU with high processing performance, Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max for fast and accurate fingerprint authentication, and a large 5,000mAh battery. The camera, which combines optical characteristics with computational photography, and the display, which leverages the strengths of IGZO and OLED, will revolutionize the shooting and imaging experience.
