Samsung Exynos 2200 AMD RDNA architecture
At present, the global scope for the Android camp cell phone products chip vendors in the state of the three kingdoms, Qualcomm, Samsung, MediaTek opposed to each other. The three of them, Qualcomm with its Snapdragon chip’s strong performance, each time in the flagship products can overpower Samsung, MediaTek head, almost dominating the high-end market, and the two have been looking for opportunities to fight back.
According to the latest revelations from Tomshardware, Samsung seems to have prepared a big move for its own Exynos chip. According to sources in the industry chain, Samsung’s next-generation Exynos 2200 flagship chip will be officially unveiled this year, the process and the current Exynos 2100 using the same 5nm LPE, but it will be equipped with a GPU based on AMD RDNA architecture, the final GPU performance will directly skyrocket by more than two times, even crushing Apple’s A14 chip.
At the same time, thanks to the combination of the new generation process, Samsung Exynos 2200 will also bring top computing performance, energy efficiency performance, and with the support of AMD RDNA architecture, this chip will play through the phone, tablet, and PC, in the notebook can also play a strong strength.
Specifically, sources say the Exynos 2200 will be equipped with a Cortex-X1 mega-core, three Cortex-A78 mega-core, and four Cortex-A55 small-core, while the notebook version may be increased in frequency again, or integrate more than one X1 mega-core to provide more powerful performance output.
According to the Korea Economic Daily, industry sources said, “The new Exynos chip will have several performance enhancements and is expected to improve the power utilization efficiency of notebooks by being manufactured using the 5nm process. This is beneficial for notebooks as well as smartphones.”
Samsung may rely on the Exynos 2200 chip to challenge Apple, will open more products based on the chip, covering cell phones, tablets, notebooks, and even all-in-one machines, and Apple’s various product lines to form direct competition, worth looking forward to.
