The phone comes with stereo dual speakers developed in collaboration with JBL, and today Redmi released an official video detailing the speaker technology. The previous Xiaomi phone featured Harman Kardon sound, and JBL is now part of the Harman Group, which has 75 years of professional audio design experience.
Officially, JBL worked with Redmi for months to develop the K40 phone speaker. The phone is equipped with large, high-sensitivity speakers on the top and bottom, including a linear cutout on the top of the phone to ensure the volume as well as the effect. Each speaker is equipped with a separate large sound chamber, greatly improving the loudness and low-frequency quality.
JBL said that its laboratory can accurately analyze the type of sound, and use algorithms to target compensation and tuning. In addition, JBL’s “Golden Ear” team also joined the tuning process to further improve the sound performance. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition sounded realistic, rich, and detailed, according to officials.
