Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is a new member of the Redmi K40 series that officially debuted on April 27, which features a 6.67-inch flexible OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, encapsulating the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 flagship processor, 64MP AI triple camera on the rear, 5065mAh battery and 67W flash charging in a limited space, while bringing the Black Shark phone’s mechanical shoulder keys. Recently, the official shared Redmi K40 Gaming Edition teardown video clearly shows off the internals of the device.
The first thing you see is the hexagonal boron nitride aerospace-grade cooling material, specifically located on the back of the rear cover and right next to the motherboard. As you can see from the teardown diagram, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is also stuffed with NFC coil components, infrared emitters, and most of the phone’s screws have been spot-glued.
After the main board and camera bezel were removed, the rear 64MP main camera + 8MP super wide-angle camera + 2MP macro camera was shown in front of the eyes. The 64-megapixel main camera also uses ED ultra-low dispersion optical glass lens with a plastic lens.
The shield is uncovered, this is the LPDDR4X memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory particles, as for the Dimensity 1200 is located below the memory, here can not be directly observed.

From the disassembly, we also found that the battery of the disassembled Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is manufactured by Dongguan New Energy Technology Co. (also known as ATL), code-named BM56, with a typical capacity of 5065mAh and a rated capacity of 4965mAh.
It is worth mentioning that we also got the first glimpse of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition magnetic power shoulder button – in terms of mechanical structure, it adopts the feature of magnets repelling each other with the same pole and attracting each other with different poles to create a super miniature magnetic power shoulder button through the shoulder key switch.
When it is closed, the magnets are attracted to each other to prevent the keys from shaking; when it is opened, the magnets are repelled by each other, and when it is fully opened, the magnets of the shoulder keys and the drive bar are again attracted to each other.
