Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Battery Capacity and Suppliers

According to the Korean media Thelec’s report, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 successor, the upcoming new smartwatch Galaxy Watch 4 will use Chinese manufacturers ATL and Samsung SDI two battery suppliers. Since the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fire in 2017, Samsung ended the supply of ATL products, but now the Samsung S21 series phones are back using ATL’s batteries.

There’s report further confirm that the Galaxy Watch 4 41mm model will have a 240mAh small polymer battery, which will be supplied by ATL; while the 45mm model’s 350mAh battery will be supplied by Samsung SDI. The reason for adding the ATL battery supplier is to reduce costs.

The report also pointed out that, this capacity is different from those for Galaxy Watch 3, which used a 247mAh battery for its 41mm model and 340mAh for the 45mm model. These battery changes indicate that the printed circuit board and display panel designs have been changed for the Watch 4. Additionally, Samsung will also likely use Google Wear OS for the new watch rather than Tizen it used for previous models.
