Meizu 18 Hands-On Video
After Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 release, several brands announced first to carry it. Among them, Xiaomi 11 become the first device with Snapdragon 888, followed by iQOO 7 and Vivo X60 Pro+. While other brands like Nubia, Black Shark, Red Magic are also on the way to launch new products, usually earlier than routine launch time. Meizu is one of them with Meizu 18 Series.
Meizu is one of those who stuck with brand design ecology, fir Meizu 17 followed its procedure line-up narrow bezel, but a front camera in a small aperture at the top right corner, instead of bezel. After several reports about the upcoming series, Today, Meizu 18 hands-on video appeared on Weibo. The most interesting point we noticed that the front camera is invisible, no punch-hole, and not in the bezel, Meizu 18 will use an under-display front camera.
Currently, it’s unclear that whether Meizu 18 or Meizu 18 Pro showcased in the hands-on video, or it’s also possible that Meizu 18 Series will bring a special edition for the under-screen camera. The video only confirms the under-screen camera and the white panel is really only Meizu insisting on doing it. There is very little possibility of a pop-up front camera.
For the display, Digital Chat Station confirms that the main big upgrade is the screen and processor, the replacement of the native FHD+ 120Hz Samsung E4 OLED flexible screen, small single-hole design. Source also mentioned that this display’s specifications could be on both or one only. Two different news confirms one with a small single-hole design and the other with an under-screen camera.
As for the battery and charging, Meizu 18 standard version is equipped with a 30W charger and a battery capacity of 3910mAh; the Pro version is a 40W charger and a battery capacity of 4410mAh, and no charger in the box of both. The core configuration is naturally equipped with Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 888, and LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 is not expected to be absent. The series has already been entered into the network, the three certificates will be released, sit and wait for the official announcement. The first price of the Meizu 17 series starts from 3699 yuan, Meizu 18 series is estimated not to change, also from 3699 yuan.
