Microsoft Surface Pro 8 FCC Certification

In most recent news of media Windows Latest, it is reported that according to a newly released FCC document, Microsoft will launch the long-rumored new Surface Pro 8 device with LTE and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. According to the FCC filing, the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 can use Quectel’s LTE-A Cat 12 M.2 module, which allows users to manage connectivity directly through the Windows 10 Settings app. Manufacturer warranty information is available through the Surface app, according to the FCC filing from Microsoft.

Another document shows that the Surface Pro 8 will support Wi-Fi 6 with Intel’s Wi-Fi 6 AX201 adapter, which is capable of delivering the latest Wi-Fi standard which is commonly known as 802.11ax as well as Bluetooth 5. The built-in LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi 6 integration should be enough to provide better wireless performance compared to the previous generation Surface Pro 7.

As for other hardware specs, expect the Surface Pro 8 device to pack up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. eBay prototypes of the Surface Pro 8 show that the device will be powered by Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake processor with Xe Graphics, and RAM running at 4200MHz.

Besides, Microsoft Surface Pro 8 will offer an Intel Core i3, 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM instead of 4GB of RAM. In terms of design, the 2-in-1 device is identical to the Surface Pro 7, and there are no changes to the screen size or bezels at all. In addition to the Surface Pro 8, Microsoft also plans to release the Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Duo 2 (Zeta) later this year.

Microsoft shows a new design concept of Win10 application with rounded UI and new switch/slider options

The media Windows Latest also reported that Microsoft is taking the redesign of Windows 10 seriously, and the company is now exploring improvements to the Store app as well. Microsoft is considering several new design changes that will affect the way apps display List-views, Grid-views, buttons, and other elements in a non-stationary state, selected/hovered, etc.

The long-rumored design upgrade has been keeping Microsoft busy for some time. We’ve already seen Fluent Design and new app icons for the Start menu in Windows 10. In addition to the system-wide improvements, the tech giant will also bring a new user interface to XAML apps. Microsoft’s proposed design also aims to implement rounded corners for items, including select checkboxes in multi-select mode, toggle switches, rating bars, hover effects, and more.

According to new documentation released by Microsoft, the new design will bring XAML Windows apps on par with existing web and mobile apps while looking familiar on Windows. Currently, XAML controls in Windows 10 are not aligned with the way Web and mobile apps have evolved. To address the inconsistency, Microsoft is planning to change the default appearance of toggle switches, sliders, and rating controls.

Microsoft also has plans to change the default appearance of various button controls. The general aim is to achieve more overall consistency across Windows 10, from PWAs to various Windows Store apps. Future Windows 10 may have windows with rounded corners, buttons, toggles, sliders, dialogs, List-views, Grid-views, selection menus, and more.

In addition to rounded corners, these application areas will also have other Fluent Design effects when selected, hovered over, or otherwise not at rest. For example, ListView items now have a tick mark identifier, and the outer focus on the timbre border is now more visible.

It’s worth noting that this is just a “proposal” and it’s not in development or testing, so there’s no guarantee that it will be finalized for use in Windows 10. According to the documents seen, Microsoft also wants to address user interface UI issues that cause the height of the context menu to increase when the user opens a context menu item.
