Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with S-Pen

The Samsung Galaxy S21 top model Ultra has been rumored to support the S Pen for a long time, and some time ago, a Samsung executive hinted on an official blog that the speculation was true. Now the device has been certified by the FCC, confirming Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with S-Pen.

The information was given by the FCC also suggests that the phone’s S-Pen will have a hover feature, which is also offered in the Galaxy Note 20 Series, allowing users to use S-Pen gestures to perform some basic tasks such as switching songs and browsing files.

The EUT can also be used with a stylus device (S-PEN). The EUT operates with the S-PEN in two different inductive coupling modes of S-PEN motion detection (Hover and Click) operating in the range of 0.53 –0.6MHz. The EUT was set to continuously transmit to the S-PEN in each of the two modes.

FCC Mentioned in Document.

As previously reported, the S-Pen may be a bit of a pain to carry around and more of a pain to charge since there is no dedicated slot on the phone, plus the FCC has not confirmed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will come bundled with the S-Pen, so it may be sold separately.

The FCC list also lists other key Galaxy S21 Ultra specs, such as Wi-Fi 6E support, a UWB (ultra-wideband) chip, and reverse wireless charging. Notably, this will be Samsung’s first Wi-Fi 6E-enabled phone, allowing for faster Wi-Fi speeds. Unlike some existing Wi-Fi channels, support for 6GHz Wi-Fi will allow for better connectivity by providing more bandwidth to avoid signal overlap, and next year’s iPhone 13 series is also expected to support Wi-Fi 6E.

Earlier, Samsung Exynos announced that Samsung Exyno’s new flagship chip, January 12, 2021, stay tuned, called the return of the king. Not surprisingly, the new flagship chip is the Exynos 2100 (tentative name), which will be carried by the Samsung Galaxy S21 series first, according to past practice, for some regions represented by Europe.

The Exynos 2100 is Samsung’s second 5nm in-house mobile SoC after the Exynos 1080 and is said to have the same 1+3+4 architecture as the Snapdragon 888, with a CPU that may consist of one X1 + three A78 + four A55s. By the current news, the Exynos 2100 CPU and Snapdragon 888 are similar, the final mass production may be the frequency difference. Integrated Mali-G78 MC14 GPU, may not be as good as the Snapdragon 888 Adreno 660, after all, the latter this time claimed to have a 35% performance increase.

In addition, refer to the GPU of another 5nm SoC Kirin 9000, also Mali-G78, but stacked to 24 cores, theoretically stronger than the GPU of Exynos 2100, but the latter’s CPU is expected to exceed Kirin 9000 thanks to the X1 mega-core boost.
