LG Rollable Phone
OPPO recently released the X 2021 concept phone, which is the world’s first concept phone with a rollable display, looks amazing, it is reported that the display is made by Chinese display manufacturer BOE, and in testing can withstand 100,000 times of strict rolling.
OPPO’s first scrolling phone apparently brings a new form to the long-dead smartphone screen, and in response, some screen manufacturers are not behind, in addition to the Samsung Rollable phone we have already reported, recently LG brand’s first Rollable phone has also applied for patents in many countries and regions, and the phone has also appeared in the Korean carrier’s database.

It looks like we’ll be seeing more phones with rollable displays in 2021, as an LG Rollable phone has reportedly been added to the South Korean carrier Intranet’s database. According to Twitter blogger, the device is now registered in the Korean carrier’s internal database under the model number LM-RN910N and the unlocked model number OMD-LM-R910N.
Some rumors indicate that the LG Rollable phone’s specifications include a 7.4-inch expandable screen with a resolution of 2428 x 1080 pixels (20:9), video mode of 2428 x 1366 pixels (16:9), and productivity mode of 2428 x 1600 pixels (3:2). Besides, the LG Curlable phone is rumored to come with a 4200mAh battery and will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 16GB of RAM.

The source also revealed the working details of the device. The device will unfold on both sides, increasing the screen size by up to 100 percent. However, the top frame will not expand as the device expands. LG will reportedly add flexible frames that can be expanded to cover the exposed edges of the screen and then retracted when the phone is turned off. The phone will also have a locking mechanism to prevent accidental unfolding and to prevent the screen from scrolling too fast, which could cause wrinkles.
LG isn’t the only company working on a phone with a scrollable display, as Samsung and TCL have also joined OPPO, which has applied for a patent for a smartphone with a scrolling display.
