At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit, Lei Jun announced on the spot that the Xiaomi Mi 11 will be the world’s first Snapdragon 888, a cutting-edge piece of hardcore technology that will soon be available to everyone.

The news reports indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 11 first Snapdragon 888 has an exclusivity period and is expected to be officially released in December. According to this speculation, the Xiaomi Mi 11 launch may take place this month, and go on sale in January.

Today, Lei Jun released a promotional video for the Snapdragon 888 on Weibo, calling it “the biggest improvement in Snapdragon platform AI performance in history,” with the hashtag “Xiaomi11.”

The ISP (image signal processor) built into an SoC has long determined how far a phone’s photography can go, and Qualcomm, Kirin, and MediaTek have all gone in different directions. The latest Snapdragon 888, for example, integrates the Spectra 580, which supports three cameras shooting concurrently and is capable of processing 2.7 billion pixels per second.

As you can see, the Snapdragon 888 is heading in the direction of higher pixels and higher resolution, and yes, support for more and higher pixels is the rule of thumb. The ISP for the Snapdragon 888 is being developed by Xiaomi: it’s stronger than the Snapdragon 888, and the camera is more stable, but the latest revelations show that the Snapdragon 888’s ISP has made great progress, but one iteration a year is no longer enough to keep up with Xiaomi’s image progress, so Xiaomi is developing its ISP.
