Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 888, which is said to be named because it’s a lucky number in China. The naming maybe a little less high-end, but more grounded. Late last night, OnePlus founder Pete Lau said on Weibo that the new flagship will be called OnePlus 888 next year, which marks OnePluss eighth anniversary.
This microblogging is mostly joking nature, Pete Lau also Qualcomm China’s official microblogging. It’s not clear if it’s so named.
The new flagship has been released in a new rendering, which is still in the form of a cut-out screen, a dual-curved design, and is expected to support a high refresh rate of 120Hz, with a rectangular camera layout on the back, including a four-camera and flash. At the core, the series can be expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor with at least 65W of wired flash charging, with the Pro version supporting wireless fast charging.
