After launching its 7nm 5G chip, the Dimensity 700, MediaTek said on November 11 that it will soon release a 5G chip with a 6nm process. The new MediaTek SoC has been spotted in the background by AnTuTu, and its overall score has already exceeded that of the Snapdragon 865.

Recently, AnTuTu discovered a new MediaTek SoC (suspected MediaTek Dimensity 6893 6nm) in the background database, the model number of which cannot be announced yet, which has already surpassed the Snapdragon 865 in terms of overall performance.

In terms of specifications, the new MediaTek SoC uses a quad-core Cortex-A78 CPU with a quad-core Cortex-A55 design and a Mali-G77 GPU with an unknown number of cores. The test machine is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space, with a screen resolution of 2300×1080 and a refresh rate of presumably 90Hz.

According to the previous reports, this new MediaTek platform uses TSMC’s 6nm process, and has one A78 super core clocked at 3.0GHz, three A78 big cores clocked at 2.6GHz, as well as 2.0GHz A55 small cores, paired with Mali-G77 MC9.

The total score of MediaTek Dimensity 6893 AnTuTu Benchmark on the test machine is 622409 points, of which the CPU score is 175351, GPU score is 235175, MEM score is 123535, and UX score is 88348. Considering that it is an engineering machine, the current running score does not represent the final performance of the SoC, and there should be further improvements in the future.

Comparing the Snapdragon 865 (results are taken from the latest AnTuTuTu list for the 8+256GB version of the Find X2 Pro), the CPU score is slightly lower than the Snapdragon 865, the GPU score is slightly higher, the MEM score has a clear advantage, and the UX score is not as good as the Snapdragon 865. According to the information AnTuTu, this is not MediaTek’s next-generation flagship-level SoC and is likely to be positioned at the sub-flagship level.
