Yesterday OPPO at the future technology conference 2020 (OPPO INNO DAY 2020) unveiled several new technologies including OPPO FDF Full-dimensional Portrait Video, 10bit full-link color management for Picture and Video Capturing, Oppo AR Glass 2021, and breakthrough Rollable Display technology. OPPO X 2021 scroll screen concept phone, using a minimum 6.7-inch, maximum 7.4-inch stepless OLED flexible rollable screen, according to the Li Xuezheng, vice president of BOE, said on Weibo that the screen came from BOE, But post wast later deleted.
Later, Yuan Feng, (certified as BOE Vice President Internet technology) commented, “BOE flexible screen” on a Weibo blogger post, which further confirmed that Oppo X 2021 display supplied by BOE.
The OPPO X 2021 achieves an almost “zero crease”, scroll-like, free-stretching screen effect through OPPO’s self-developed Roll Motor powertrain, dual-matrix embedded clutch structure, and screen dynamic zone skeleton overlay. The “Roll Motor” power solution is specifically designed by the structural engineers for the smooth unfolding and retracting of the screen: the two drive motors in the body output a constant force, which is directly used for unfolding and retracting the screen, so that the screen is under uniform force during the movement, and it can effectively prevent the screen from being damaged when a sudden force is applied.
OPPO said the OPPO X 2021 Scroll Screen Concept is OPPO’s exploration and experimentation of cell phone screen form. Compared with the fixed-size folding screen, the scroll screen can be infinitely adjusted between the minimum and maximum size, bringing more possibilities for productivity, entertainment, and daily use.
