According to Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station, at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit, Qualcomm will unveil a 5nm flagship core and a 5nm mid-range core, but no specific names were mentioned, with possible names being Snapdragon 875 and Snapdragon 775.

Unsurprisingly, the Snapdragon 875 is coming. After the news was announced, Xiaomi China President and Redmi Brand General Manager Lu Weibing retweeted the above Qualcomm’s post saying, “Looking forward to…”

Back in September when Apple debuted its 5nm A14 chip, Lu Weibing took to Weibo to hint that Xiaomi/Redmi would be releasing a new product with the Snapdragon 875. Specifically, the corresponding ones are undoubtedly the Xiaomi Mi 11 or Redmi K40 series.

According to the past pattern, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 will be commercially available in 2021 Q1, no surprise, Xiaomi flagship Mi 11 could be the first to use, at least one of the first commercial Snapdragon 875 flagship phone.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 will likely be the company’s fastest, most powerful, and most energy-efficient 5G chipset. It’s likely to make an appearance in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series of smartphones, which is to be launching in February 2021.

We have previously reported that a Plus model exists for the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chip that could be named Snapdragon 875G. There also exists a Snapdragon 775G with model SM7350 chip, codenamed as Cedros.

Source also claims that there is some connection between the Snapdragon 775G and the Snapdragon 875G. As the Snapdragon 775G is being tested on a platform configured with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash and is more of a replacement for the current sub-flagship chipset than a mid-range position.
