HTC Foldable Phone Patent Exposure

Several manufacturers have already launched foldable phones, including Samsung, Motorola, and Huawei. Foldable mobile phones are on fire, as one of the former Android mobile phone manufacturer HTC Foldable Phone will participate in this computation.

According to foreign LetsGoDigital’s reports, HTC filed a patent application for a “foldable display device” in the United States at the end of last year and was officially included in the database of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on August 20, 2020.

According to the description of the patent, HTC’s foldable display device adopts the same middle folding scheme as Motorola Razr 5G, but different from Motorola Razr 5G, it adopts the outward folding of the screen, which is fine for a vertical screen, but after folding and storing it, it may be damaged by the folding of the screen. The screen is out there and there’s no way to find a suitable place to rest it.

HTC has handled the folding with a support structure that leaves the sides of the body slightly raised outward, and the gears at the joints also prevent the flexible screen from being overstretched and damaged during the opening and closing process as well as mitigating the creases on the screen, which is the most common downside to folding screens nowadays.

The device has a single hole in the middle of the screen design, the rear of the horizontal very value triple camera lens, which is not much different from the current phone, that is, with HTC’s current phone situation, when the phone will be mass-produced, that’s a big mystery. Of course, like a patent, it’s not certain whether HTC will necessarily commercialize a corresponding product.
