The iPhone 12 Series absence from Apple’s fall launch has raised even more expectations. In particular, the 5nm A14 processor has been premiered on the iPad Air 4, and we can’t help but wonder how the A14 on the iPhone 12 performs.

Today, a device with the model number “iPhone 13,4” appeared in its background database of AnTuTu benchmark. The new device’s screen size and processor frequency are unidentifiable for now.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max AnTuTu Benchmark, revealed that its screen resolution is 2,688 × 1,242 pixels, which is consistent with the iPhone 11 Pro Max, it is assumed that the new device’s true identity should be the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

As for the core configuration, the device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The iPhone 11 Pro Max, on the other hand, has 4GB of RAM, while storage starts at 64GB, with no 128GB version. In other words, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has half the memory capacity compared to the iPhone 11 series, and the storage may also start from 128GB.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max’s Apple A14 AnTuTu Benchmark running scores show that the device has a total score of 572,333, with a CPU score of 167527, GPU score of 222,071, MEM score of 100808, and UX score of 81927.

Comparing iPhone 12 Pro Max with the average score of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the overall score improved by 9.1%, CPU score improved by 16.7%, GPU score improved by 3.6%, storage score improved by 21.9%, and UX score dropped by 2.1%.

From the AnTuTu scores revealed this time, the A14 is not much better than the A13, especially in the GPU. It is worth noting that the UX score is affected by the refresh rate, but the UX score of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is not improved compared to that of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, so the iPhone 12 Pro Max will probably still be a 60Hz screen, no chance of 120Hz.

iPhone 12 Pro Max vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Comparison

According to Apple’s official statement, the A14 processor compared to the A12 CPU performance by 40%, GPU performance by 20%; and A13 processor compared to the A12 CPU performance by 20%, GPU performance by 20%; this translates into A14 processor vs. A13 in terms of CPU performance increase of about 16.7%, GPU performance increase of about in the around 8.3%.

Of course, just from the current exposure of a running score does not explain too many problems, ultimately through the average score to compare more meaningful. AnTuTu claims that this may be a compromise that Apple had to make for the sake of battery life, and expect it to perform better on the iPad Air 4.
