Apple iPad Air 4 Features And Price
Yesterday night, Apple announced the 2020 iPad Air 4 with a 10.9-inch full screen, powered by the A14 Bionic processor, priced from $599. The Apple iPad Air 4 features an iPad Pro-like four-sided equal-width full-screen design language, is available in five color variants: silver, dark gray, rose gold, green, and sky blue, is just 6.1mm thick and weighs 458 grams (Wi-Fi) or 460 grams (4G).
In terms of configuration, the iPad Air 4 features a 10.9-inch 2360×1640 wide color gamut screen with a maximum brightness of 500 nits and 264 PPI. This screen supports several advanced display technologies, such as P3 wide color gamut, original color display, and anti-reflective coating. Apple iPad Air 4 offers a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel front camera, has a 28.6Wh battery capacity, has a claimed battery life of up to 10 hours, and runs iPad OS 14.
To achieve a full-screen design on the iPad Air, Apple-designed one of the smallest Touch ID sensors available. Despite the elimination of the Home button Touch ID, the iPad Air 4 does not feature a Face ID design but instead integrates the Touch ID feature at the top of the power button, which is not much different from the previous Home button in terms of unlocking convenience. According to Apple, the Touch ID module features a sapphire lens and a next-generation custom sensor that effectively captures the details of a fingerprint.
In terms of processors, Apple’s new iPad Air features the A14 Bionic processor, which uses a 5nm process to deliver outstanding performance at lower power consumption. The A14 Bionic processor is a 6-core CPU that delivers 40 percent more performance than the previous iPad Air, while the quad-core GPU delivers 30 percent more performance.
In terms of design, Apple’s new iPad Air comes with a USB-C port, and a 20W USB-C power adapter is officially included. The new iPad Air supports the magnetic attachment of the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) to the side for charging and storage. Apple’s new iPad Air also supports a Myriad keyboard.
On the camera side, the new iPad Air features a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera on the front that supports 1080p video, and a 12-megapixel camera on the rear that is identical to the iPad Pro and supports 4K video recording. The new iPad Air’s speakers have been redesigned to support stereo playback.
