Apple iPad 8 Introduction

The A12 Bionic chip that powers iPad 8 is familiar to all of us from the iPhone Xs series and the iPhone XR. It was the industry’s first 7nm chip that year and contains a six-core CPU. The quad-core GPU delivers a 40 percent CPU boost and a twofold increase in GPU performance over the previous generation chip.
Besides, iPadOS 14 brings new features and designs to both iPads, taking full advantage of the iPad’s unique capabilities, large multitouch display, and versatile accessories. iPadOS 14 further integrates the Apple Pencil into the iPad experience to provide better note-taking and new ways to use handwritten notes.
When taking notes on iPad, smart selection uses on-device machine learning to distinguish between handwriting and drawing, so handwritten text can be easily selected, cut, and pasted into another document as text typed using the same familiar gestures.

Shape recognition allows users to draw geometrically perfect shapes that capture in place as they add diagrams and illustrations in Notes. Data detectors work seamlessly with handwritten text to recognize phone numbers, dates, addresses, and links, making it easy for users to perform actions such as clicking a handwritten number to make a call.
