Huawei Mate X2 Display Specifications
There’s been quite a bit of buzz about Huawei’s new folding screen Mate X2 lately, but it’s mostly limited to rumors and not from any reliable source. In contrast, industry insider Ross Young’s scoop today is a lot more reliable, revealing the Huawei Mate X2 display specifications.

Huawei Mate X2 will feature an 8.03-inch screen and an in-fold design, with suppliers Samsung as well as BOE. However, instead of Samsung’s painfully thin glass covering the surface of the folded screen, it’s made of polyimide flex.
While both the Mate X and Mate Xs are outward-folding options, Huawei is also considering an inward-folding design. Huawei also had previously applied for a patent for a folding-screen phone, which showed Huawei’s idea of an internal folding.
For comparison, the Mate Xs has an 8-inch folded screen, so the size of the Mate X2 should not change much compared to the Mate Xs, but the folded form will be adjusted.
It’s uncertain when the Huawei Mate X2 will be released, and it may be unveiled alongside the Mate 40 series. As the next generation of folding-screen phones in the Mate series, the new look of the X2 is something to look forward to.
