Xiaomi Statement Shared By Manu Kumar Jain

Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi’s head of marketing in India, tweeted that “Xiaomi will fully comply with Indian government requirements and that there will be no blocked apps on Xiaomi phones” and that “100% of Indian users’ data will be retained in India.”

We have also noticed some stray instances of misinformation being spread regarding the above points.

Xiaomi reserves the right to take legal action against false accusations of its non-compliance with Government orders.

India began taking action in June this year to ban 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok, UC Browser, and WeChat. According to previous Indian media sources, the Indian government recently listed another 47 apps for the relevant local markets and made it mandatory for them to be removed from the shelves, but Indian officials have not released a detailed list of these apps.
