Global Smartphone Market Share Q2 2020
Preliminary data from IDC’s quarterly global smartphone market share Q2 2020 report shows that smartphone shipments worldwide declined by 16.0% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2020. A total of 278.4 million smartphones were sold by all companies worldwide in the second quarter.

From a regional perspective, the report notes that China fared slightly better with a 10.3 percent decline. Asia-Pacific (excluding China and Japan), Western Europe, and the U.S. saw declines of 31.9 percent, 14.8 percent, and 12.6 percent, respectively.
From the manufacturer, Huawei shipped 55.8 million units in the second quarter, down 5.1 percent year-on-year, ranking first. Samsung shipped 54.2 million units, down 28.9 percent year-on-year, with a 19.5 percent market share. Apple shipped 37.6 million units, up 11.2 percent year-over-year, with a 13.5 percent market share.

Xiaomi shipped 28.5 million units in the second quarter, giving it a 10.2 percent market share. OPPO ranked fifth with 24 million units shipped and a market share of 8.6 percent, thanks to better performance in China, delivered about 60 percent of its units.
