Xiaomi Phone With built-in Headphones
Last month, LetsGoDigital exposed a Xiaomi’s full-screen mobile phone patent, the patent is very mysterious top of the phone, placed two circles, its function is unknown, at the time, speculation is the camera system or speaker.

The reports at the time were based on a design patent filed in China by Beijing-based Xiaomi Mobile Software, and now Xiaomi’s International Design System at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office), gives more information about the patent. In total, two patents are involved, the first focusing on the design of the phone and the second explaining additional accessories. The document was filed earlier this year and published on July 24, 2020.
Xiaomi’s patent description explains the purpose of the two holes at the top of the phone, which surprisingly are used to hold headphones, and Xiaomi’s second patent description covers the product as a headset. Thus, the two mysterious circles at the top of the phone are used to hold the wireless headset for easy storage when the headset is not in use, similar to Samsung’s S Pen stylus.

The headset is also unique in that the headset head can be rotated so that the headset speaker points up when the headset is stored in the body. The headphones can then be moved slightly out of the case so that they can also be used as phone speakers. It is also possible to remove the headphones completely from the housing, as the head can rotate so they can easily wear in the ear.

It’s unclear if Xiaomi intends to release a smartphone with built-in headphones, and there are drawbacks to this construction, which would take up a lot of space inside the already compact phone. Still, it’s a very innovative design indeed.
Going back to the phone itself in the patent, it has a metal frame, is preferably square, has narrow screen bezels, no bangs, and a full-screen design. There’s also no front-facing camera insight; possibly an under-screen camera system may be used. Of course, being a design patent, it’s still unknown whether Xiaomi will launch such a phone.
