This afternoon, MediaTek held an online conference to officially launch it is new mid- to high-end 5G SoC Dimensity 820 full specifications.

Dr. Yanzhu Li, Vice General Manager of Wireless Communications Division, said, “The Dimensity 820, which is part of the Dimensity 800 series, has a flagship architecture design and excellent performance, and its overall performance is the strongest in its class, which will quickly enter the market to boost the popularity of 5G and bring powerful 5G performance and experience to more consumers.”

In terms of specs, the Dimensity 820 processor is partly the same as the Dimensity 800 architecture, with four 2.6GHz A76 cores and four 2.0GHz A55 cores, and a GPU of Mali-G57MC5. It is also equipped with the MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 game optimization engine, which not only accelerates game startup and transitions but also makes the game run more stable at full frame.

In terms of the baseband, the Dimensity 820 supports 5G NSA/SA networking, 5G+5G dual card dual standby, and 5G dual-carrier aggregation technology (said to increase high-speed 5G signal coverage by 30%), following the baseband technology of Dimensity 1000.

At the same time, the Dimensity 820 is equipped with MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology, achieving the world’s lowest 5G power consumption and longer 5G range.

In terms of AI, the Dimensity 820 is equipped with MediaTek APU 3.0, which is said to bring powerful floating-point AI computing power, and it also makes use of MediaTek’s exclusive multitasking scheduling technology to perform well in AI photo and video optimization and other daily applications.
