In first week of March, OPPO Find X2 series, which had been warmed up for a long time, was officially released. This is a brand new model after the Find series has been suspended for one year. This year OPPO to hit the high-end market with Oppo Find X2 Pro camera technology.

The biggest highlight of OPPO Find X2 is the front QHD + screen, and this screen supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, which is an absolute top level in the current mobile phone, and the other is the standard Snapdragon 865 , 65W fast charge and other flagship configurations.

The camera is the main highlight of Oppo Find X2 Pro. The Find X2 Pro is equipped with three cameras at the rear, but the camera performance is not weak. It is the strongest three-camera system at present.

In terms of parameters, the Find X2 Pro is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera + 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (IMX 586) + 13 million telephoto lens. The main camera is the world’s first IMX689 with a size of 1/1.4 inches and dual native ISO technology. And for the first time equipped with full-pixel omnidirectional focusing technology, both wide-angle and telephoto have OIS optical image stabilization, equipped with laser focusing, color temperature sensor.

Story of Oppo Find X2 Pro Camera Technology

The most thorough way to innovate is to go back to the origin. We looked back on the development of the Photography and re-examined basic the technology behind it.
Upon Introducing the, “camera phone” concept it was clear where OPPO’s earliest priorities lay.

At smartphone photography’s current stage of development in key area such as low light, focus and details it’s becoming harder to make major breakthroughs. So we choose go back to basics re-exploring professional cameras for the answers.

We compared all the scenarios searching for discrepancies bit by bit in image purity, lighting gradients, night shot noise, focus speed and accuracy, dynamic details and more.

We searched for discrepancies in the results going back to hardware and trying to find solutions. In this process we realized no existing sensor could meet our requirements.

We went through Multiple rounds of discussion and joint explorations with our module vendor deciding to draw on the basic logic behind professional cameras. Targeting light sensitivity, dynamic range, color depth, PDAF (all pixel Omni-directional) and signal-to-noise ratio we created a thoroughly customized sensor; The IMX689, Internally nicknamed Truth Sensor was originally about exploring the truth digging deep and branching out.
