Oppo Find X2 equipped with Snapdragon 865 and Sony 2×2 On-Chip Lens Solution
According to media person Trendy Electronics Xu Lin, at the OPPO INNO Day event a few days ago, some information about the OPPO Find flagship was revealed, saying that the OPPO Find flagship update will be normalized and regularized. Oppo Find X2 will be released in Q1, 2020, and will adopt the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.
In addition, OPPO Find X2 will be equipped with a sensor Sony 2×2 On-Chip lens solution customized by Sony and will debut the All Pixel Omni-directional PDAF technology, which will greatly improve the focusing performance.
In terms of screens, the quality of all aspects of the screen will be greatly improved. This should be the most overbearing screen in OPPO history.
Oppo Find X series is most innovative series from oppo, we can expect oppo find x2 possibly first to come with under screen camera technology ; which live demonstrated in oppo’s future technology event.
Sony 2×2 On-Chip Lens Solution
Sony’s next-generation camera sensor will greatly improve the focus accuracy of smartphones, which will be doubled. Sony just introduced its 2 × 2 chip lens solution (OCL) for future mobile image sensors.
Sony first revealed its 2 × 2 OCL mobile camera technology on December 9, 2019. The new system is described as follows: “The 2 × 2 chip lens (OCL) solution is a new image sensor technology for high-speed focusing, high resolution, high sensitivity, and high dynamic range.” The best Sony Quad Bayer available The sensor has an on-chip lens on each pixel, and this new solution uses an on-chip lens on each of four adjacent pixel groups.
The following is the official introduction of Sony 2×2 On-Chip Lens solution: Mobile phone image sensor, new pixel structure
2×2 On-Chip Lens Solution
Mobile phone image sensor, new pixel structure
2x2On-Chip Lens (OCL) solution is a new technology of image sensor that can achieve high-speed focusing, high resolution, high sensitivity, high dynamic range.
In the conventional technology, the structure of the on-chip lens that spans four pixels (to be described later) has a significant problem of deviation in sensitivity between individual pixels. This time Sony has optimized the hardware structure and new signal processing technology , Which enables the development of image sensors that simultaneously achieve high image quality and performance.
Pixel construction
On each pixel of the image sensor, there is a light collecting lens called On Chip Lens.
Traditional structure, each pixel has a separate On Chip Lens. 2×2 OCL is 4 pixels of the same color adjacent to each other, sharing the same On Chip Lens.
This new structure has the following advantages over traditional designs
- Full pixel phase difference detection
- Enhanced phase difference detection performance (focusing performance)
Full pixel phase difference detection
The traditional method for detecting phase difference using dedicated pixels, because these dedicated pixels do not have a photographing function, only a small number of pixels can be used for phase difference detection.
In the 2×2 OCL method, pixels used for photographing can also be used for phase difference detection, that is, all pixels can be used for phase difference detection.
Therefore, it is possible to perform high-precision focusing on a small subject.
Enhanced phase difference detection performance (focusing performance)
- Focusing performance in low light
In order to obtain stable focusing performance in low light, it is necessary to add information obtained by multiple phase difference detection pixels to exclude the influence of noise.
As mentioned earlier, all pixels in 2 × 2 OCL can detect the phase difference, and more information can be added to obtain more stable focusing performance.
- Focusing performance independent of subject shape and texture.
In the conventional phase difference detection method, since pixels are divided into left and right sides for detection, they are not good at subjects that have no change in texture in the horizontal direction (for example, subjects composed of horizontal edges, etc.).
In addition to 2×2 OCL, in addition to left and right, it can also detect up and down, so you can use phase difference for high-speed autofocus in various scenes.
The following figure shows the phase difference detection characteristics of subjects with different angle edges.
- ColorFilter arrangement of Quad Bayer structure.
The Quad Bayer structure, which uses the same color color filter for 4 adjacent pixels, meets the needs of high resolution and high sensitivity, and supports high dynamic range (HDR) photography.
- High resolution
Use the unique signal processing function to change the arrangement to achieve high-resolution photography.
- High sensitivity
Adjacent 4 pixels of the same color can be added to read out, which can take bright photos and videos with low noise. In addition, through the design and manufacturing technology of 2 × 2 OCL, the utilization efficiency of light is increased, and further sensitivity is achieved.
- High Dynamic Range (HDR)
The original exposure control technology and signal processing function can output HDR in real time.
