Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM2 Full Specifications
Recently, Samsung’s ISOCELL officially introduced the GM1 mobile sensor upgrade model – Samsung ISOCELL GM2. At the same time, Samsung also wrote: “The border less full screen of mobile devices + rear multi-camera has gradually become the mainstream design. In response to this trend, ISOCELL also introduced ISOCELL bright GM2 moving image sensor with a single pixel size of only 0.8μm. !”
Samsung ISOCELL GM2 uses Tetracell technology to combine four adjacent pixels into one large pixel to significantly improve the sensitivity in low light conditions. With the Smart WDR feature, users can make multiple exposures in a single shot, giving both bright and dark areas better detail.
At the same time, the Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor also uses Dual PD (Dual PD) and Super PD (Super PD) focus to achieve AF 3-layer stack fast readout sensor. Phase Detection Auto focus (PDAF) has been implemented with Dual Pixel and Super PD sensors, and the ISOCELL GM2 sensor recognizes the distance of fast moving objects even in low light conditions for faster, more accurate auto focus. The 3-layer stacked fast readout sensor (FRS) captures full HD video at high-speed.
The size of the Samsung new sensor is only 0.8 micron. In the future, even if the camera module on the device is small. It can produce high-quality images, which is more conducive to the ultra-thin design of the mobile phone.
It also supports optical zoom, shooting under dim light (LLS) and depth sensing for refocusing. It will greatly improve the photo sensitivity, depth effect and sharpness of the photo.
