Samsung 108 Megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX Released
Samsung Electronics annouced the launch of the 108 megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, and said it is the industry’s first mobile image sensor with more than 100 million. Official said that this is Xiaomi and Samsung The result of close cooperation.

Samsung Electronics is a global leader in advanced semiconductor technology. Today it launched the 1.08 megapixel (Mp) Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX, the industry’s first mobile image sensor with more than 100 million pixels. With the launch of the latest products, Samsung will expand its 0.8μm image sensor product from the recently announced ultra-high 64Mp to 108Mp, the resolution is equivalent to the resolution of high-end digital SLR cameras. It is a unique mobile image sensor that is the result of close cooperation between Xiaomi and Samsung.
With over 100 megapixel effective pixels, the ISOCELL Bright HMX delivers extremely detailed photos for outstanding photos even in extreme lighting conditions. As the first mobile image sensor with a large 1 / 1.33 inch size, the HMX can absorb more light than a small sensor in low light conditions, and its pixel-combined Tetracell technology enables the sensor to mimic large pixel sensors, resulting in a brighter 27Mp image. In a bright environment, Smart-ISO is a mechanism for intelligently selecting the amplifier gain level based on ambient lighting for optimal photoelectric signal conversion, switching to low ISO to increase pixel saturation and produce realistic photos. This mechanism uses a high ISO in darker settings to help reduce noise and make the image sharper.

Samsung Volume production of the ISOCELL Bright HMX will begin later this month.
