The weakness of the Hole-In-Display technology, in fact, quite obvious
Nowadays, the most representative perforated screens have two solutions. One is the through-hole scheme represented by Samsung A8s. It is to completely penetrate the backlight layer and the liquid crystal layer of the LCD screen. The front lens is the same as other mobile phones. The top is under the glass cover, which has the advantage of ensuring the light transmittance of the front lens.
Although the light transmittance is good, the through hole solution still has some problems. As the whole layer penetrates the liquid crystal layer, it is necessary to add a ring of rubber ring around the lens to prevent leakage, which causes the Samsung A8s to have a very large perforation with a hole diameter of 6 mm. Visually relatively conspicuous, if it is a friend with obsessive-compulsive disorder, it may be very tired!

The other side is the blind hole scheme represented by Honor V20 and Huawei Nova 4. This solution is more advanced than Samsung because it only needs to penetrate the backlight layer without penetrating the liquid crystal layer, so the perforation aperture is relatively small, only 4.5mm. . However, this will also cause some, because the lens and the outside world are separated by a layer of liquid crystal, the theoretical light transmittance will be affected.
After feedback from many netizens, the Honor V20 has made some improvements in light transmittance, because the front lens uses a unique process for light transmission, which can minimize this effect. However, during use, you will find that the front lens is surrounded by a white background, and you can still see the phenomenon of shadows and slight yellowing. This may be the place where the technology is not mature!
In addition to these technical problems, there are more or less problems with the perforated screen in software. Like Notch Display, the perforated screen also requires manufacturers to spend time redesigning the APP, otherwise it will not be perfectly adapted to the system. Just like the appearance of Notch Display in the early days, it often encounters problems such as screen scale and display, and the transformation takes a certain amount of time, so this time cost is naturally paid by the first batch of users!
I am irresponsible to analyze for everyone, in fact, Lei Jun’s original intention is to tell friends that everything does not have to fight for the first, user experience and product quality is the most important!
